Restoration works to Nizamabad Museum (Heritage structure)



History

The District Archaeological Museum in Nizamabad was established in Nizamabad’s Tilak Garden.

It was originally constructed in 1936 by the VIIth Nizam, Mir Osman Ali Khan. The District Archaeological Museum of Nizamabad was officially opened to the public in October 2001.

It exhibits a diverse array of artifacts and antiquities that represent the evolution of human civilization right from Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Stone Age tools and objects like cells, blades, microlithics, spears, arrowheads, chisels, knives, iron blades, primitive swords, axes, lamps, lids, figurines, beads, conches, shell and glass bangles, ear spools, sickles, rivets, rods, hoes, pounders, saddle querns, stone pestles, bricks, and polished red and black ware pottery to Vijayanagara times (16th century A.D.).
