History

The District Museum, Pillalamarri, was established in 1976 and situated just opposite to the famous Pillalamarri Baniyan tree, which was 700 years old.

At present 120 stone sculptures are on display in one building and the adjacent garden. Displaying objects of prehistoric tools, coins, bronzes, arms, weapons, etc. belonging to Amarabad of Mahbubnagar District and some acquired from the State Museum, Hyderabad.
